Institute of Public Journalism™

Journalism begins with the public interest.

The Institute of Public Journalism™ is designed around a simple premise: journalism earns authority only when the public can understand how that authority is used. Access to publication may become universal, but responsibility cannot be optional.

The Institute is intended to develop professional practice around evidence, attribution, corrections, conflicts of interest, source handling, reporting versus opinion, manipulated media, AI disclosure and the public consequences of inaccurate information.

It also provides the educational foundation for Newslington’s wider integrity architecture. A journalist should be able to demonstrate not merely that work was published, but that it was produced with a documented standard of care, transparency and accountability.

The objective is not to dictate opinion. It is to strengthen the observable professional conduct by which journalism can be judged, challenged, corrected and trusted.
